Brisbane West
Eco Fest

Brisbane West Eco Fest is a community event organised by representatives of ecofriendly community groups from western Brisbane suburbs, under the auspices of The Gap Sustainability Initiative, in collaboration with Save our Waterways Now, Boomerang Bags The Gap and Surrounds, and Repair Café The Gap.

The Brisbane West Eco Fest showcases local solutions to key environmental issues, sustainable solutions that individuals/ families can adopt to help improve their own wellbeing as well as the health of their local environments and biodiversity. A healthy environment is known to be important for physical and mental wellbeing of individuals and communities.

At this year’s event on Sunday 16 August 2026, we expect an even greater diversity of stalls. Our morning session will feature four local heroes who will share their passion, explain why they undertake sustainable action, what motivates them, and how people can get involved. Gecko’s Wildlife, Facepainting Fairies and RecycleMan will provide entertainment. In addition to last year’s program we will also provide practical workshops, such as how to compost, and how to repair clothes so they can be used longer.
