Tension between space for infrastructure and natural habitat

The Queensland government is inviting comments on its South East regional plan. Its a 192 pages document, which takes a lot to read and understand. Over the next decades population growth is expected to be quite high and infrastructure needs to hold pace. In other countries, infrastructure increasingly involved trains and underground metro and overground light rail. Many of these transport modalities allow cyclists to take their bikes with them, or have bike parking at either end. The reason for these transport modes can move the most people most efficiently and with the smallest impact on the environment and habitat of the wildlife. When searching for the work rail in the document it is mentioned 159 times, hopefully a positive sign?
