All around Australia people will come together this weekend for national tree day. Trees are amazing, they provide food and shelter for animals and humans, they provide oxygen, shade and filter the air and the water, they are beautiful to look at and create a wonderful atmosphere for all completely free to enjoy. In the Gap two big events are held to celebrate National Tree Day, first on Saturday Men of the Trees are holding a planting event at Grenoble Street near Paten Park at 9am. Then on Sunday Paten Park Native Nursery has a display of plants, activities for the children and information about native bees by Brisbane Edible Gardens from 10-1. If you can, consider walking down or riding your bicycle to avoid a big traffic jam for either event.
